Dimension 3 – Appreciating the complexity of my Employer Organization and the interrelationships of discipline fields

After I joined in Dong Ping Finance and start my Co-Op, I strongly realized there are lots of interactions between finance and other functional areas, they are: Marketing Area, Management Area, IT, Accounting and Economics area.

 

Marketing: as a teller and consultant, I must know some marketing skills in order to promote my service.

Sales skill: because I contact with customers everyday, this skill could affect company’s profit and my quality of service directly, from my point of view, build up a good relationship with clients is very necessary during my work. I always use “honorific” word such as “Mr, sir, Madam, Ms, Miss” I realized in order to increase service quality and satisfy every customer I must be a good-tempered and regardful person, try my best to make friends with them and let them feel that I care about their benefit. For example I always ask feedback from them because I believe that is the best way to gain myself and get more trust from customers.

Consumer’s behaviours: “it is the study of how people buy what they buy, when they buy and why they buy” (Perner,L.n.d.) for example, different customers have different needs and wants, some foreign travellers want to buy NZD therefore they hope NZD could decrease against foreign currencies. Others who want to travel to overseas will definitely hope NZD could increase as higher as possible. It requires me to memorise different customer’s behaviour. If there is a customer want to ask some suggestions from me, I would be honest to tell the truth, if I think the exchange rate is not very good for them, I would like to give suggestions like not to buy or sell all of their money and as I mentioned before,

I have a personal notebook; I would write down their contact number and give them a call when I think the exchange rate meets their criteria. I am sure learning these marketing issues would increase my working efficiency. And I actually have got some good comments from my customers, they all like the way of my service and have became to my friends.
