“Critical thinking means finding that which is important. Questioning is at the heart of critical thinking because it allows you to go beyond the basic recall of information.” (Chaffee, 1998) thinking critically is an ability to think clearly and rationally. As a finance student, this ability is useful. I need to control this ability in order to provide high quality service to all customers.

Before I start this Co-Op paper, I only think of a question from their surface. And now I have perceived things happen due to many reasons. For example, depression of stock market could lead a downturn on currency, but the deeply thinking is what causes the depression of stick market.

I have made a research that is some steps to develop this skill.

1. Accept information, what I see, what I heard, what I read and experience

2. Ask myself about why it happens and what effects does it have

3. Make a conclusion and see whether I get different answer at different time.

If there is a customer complain about the company, I will accept his/her opinion firstly, ask myself what the wrong with the service, what causes his/her complain, what is the impact to our company and make a conclusion about what can be done, what solutions or alternatives are. Lastly, I need to choose the best solution to the customer, such as refund the money or make compensation.

Contribution of the co-op work experience to the future career planning

The main purpose of this Co-Op paper is to help me apply the theories that I learnt from university into the real work, the theories of my major and some other functional areas are likely a framework to enhance my understanding about how the real business performing. According to few weeks’ Co –Op work, I have found my strengths and weaknesses, assess myself and try to mend my weakness in the future. I have almost achieved my goals which I established at the beginning of the work experience. My problem solving skills had been developed; I had realized how to work with my colleagues and my supervisor as a whole team. I have also trained myself to think deeply and critically. In additional, by working in Dong Ping Finance, my finance knowledge has been practiced very much, I can use professional finance knowledge to satisfy my customers, I also have gained some good habit according to this Co-Op, so far I have hold a brain with finance perception and I am keeping my eye on finance market at any time. I am so appreciate about the benefit that I have got from Co-Op experience.
