Furthermore, I made a research about negotiation; “win-win” situation is the basic point for an integrative negotiation approach. (Campling et al, 2006) “win-win” means both parties can satisfy their own interest. Since I understood the theory about negotiation, I started to think in customers’ position, I started to give the most proper exchange rate; I tried my best to satisfy all of my customers and tried to make more profit for them by useful negotiation. I became more and more confident and I found I was no longer afraid of communicate with customers no matter face to face or through phone call. My communication skill had been improved significantly.
Effective teamwork skills
It is important to improve the ability of working effectively with others in group, because no one can afford all works and figure out all problems by their own, furthermore, as a rookie in the workplace, I might need help from others, they can teach me knowledge and tips during the work and help me to fit the position as soon as possible, in a word, without cooperating I can not finish the Co-Op paper effectively. There is an important theory on teamwork which is called Belbin’s Role.
There are many different roles in team worker, such as monitor, specialist, teamwork; resource people etc. (Changing Minds, n.d.) understanding my role could help our team works effectively and save time. For example, in the first week, I could only be a resource people who took responsibility on creating customer’s profile, scan their ID. At the same time my supervisor was monitoring on my work and teaches me more about the business. Because I could not do some complex jobs, otherwise I would make many mistakes and decrease the efficiency for the team. As time goes by, I could take more works after few weeks. I also had ability to monitor other people and give a help on their work, my role in the team had became to a team worker.
Furthermore, understand my strengths and weakness may also help my team to work effectively.
