- Introduction
Finding a perfect match among the numerous universities in the UK or even worldwide can be a challenging task for a prospective student. The years spent in university relates to a student’s growth in knowledge, growth in personality maturity and career preparation. To make the investment in attending university worthwhile, large amount of research must be done before a wise choice can be made. Intelligent decision guidance should be provided for the students’ reference.
In this report, to serve the purpose of choosing the most suitable university to attend for a prospective student more actually, a management decision support model based on information collected in assignment 2, some make-up research and previous reading and data is built and explained in detail. Factors included in the model are reputation (including university ranking, research quality, teaching standards and academic setting), fees, campus (including location, facility and transportation), student satisfaction and career service (including resume service, mock interview, industry connection, and career fair hosted). Three alternatives -- University of Huddersfield, York St John University and University of Nottingham – are analyzed using the support decision model built in this project carefully. Finally, a management report with clear recommendations and justification is given.
